DJI OSMO Pocket 3, Making Your Vlogs Simpler and More Fun

The DJI OSMO Pocket 3 is an incredibly compact and portable camera with a one-inch sensor that can capture high-definition videos and photos. I came across a video by Hurricane Media on Bilibili (a Chinese video-sharing platform), which piqued my interest in this camera. I immediately ordered the comprehensive package.

The comprehensive package includes a battery handle, a DJI Mic 2, a mini tripod, a waterproof case, and a wireless module. These accessories make the use of the Pocket 3 more convenient and versatile. The battery handle extends the camera’s battery life, the DJI Mic 2 enhances audio recording quality, the mini tripod stabilizes the camera on any surface, the waterproof case allows underwater shooting, and the wireless module facilitates wireless connections to your smartphone for remote control and data transfer.

The DJI Pocket 3 is incredibly small, weighing only 124 grams, making it easy to carry in your pocket or hang around your neck. It has a cute appearance and is available in two colors: black and silver. The 1.5-inch touchscreen allows for various operations and settings. Its lens features a three-axis mechanical gimbal for stable and smooth footage. The lens can also rotate 90 degrees, enabling vertical video shooting, perfect for sharing on social media.

The Pocket 3 boasts powerful features, capable of shooting 4K60fps HLG content with 10-bit color depth for richer colors and dynamic range. It can also capture 1080p 240fps and 4K 120fps slow-motion videos to capture more detail and action. It offers various intelligent modes like follow mode, panorama mode, sport mode, story mode, and night mode, making it easy for users to achieve professional-looking results.

I tried shooting a video at home using the 4K60fps HLG mode and later edited it on my computer using DJI’s software. The result was impressive, with clear visuals, vibrant colors, a wide dynamic range, and rich details. Considering its small size, I find the performance of the Pocket 3 outstanding. I haven’t shared my video online, but there are many other user videos on Bilibili that you can refer to.

I believe the Pocket 3 is an excellent choice for vloggers and video creators, as it simplifies and adds fun to the shooting process. Its price is also reasonable, with the base version priced at 3,500 RMB and the comprehensive package at 4,500 RMB, which is a cost-effective alternative to buying a mirrorless camera and a stabilizer separately. Its only drawback is the absence of mechanical zoom; it relies on digital zoom, which can impact image quality. Nevertheless, this seems to be a reasonable trade-off for its compact size.

In summary, I am very satisfied with the Pocket 3, and I believe it may become a long-lasting popular product. If you’re interested, I recommend giving it a try; I’m sure you’ll love it.
