BYD Yuan UP to Debut on March 5th

On February 27th, BYD’s new compact SUV, the Yuan UP, is set to make its official debut in China on March 5th, with plans for market availability within March. The new car will be part of the “Yuan” family and will be sold through the Dynasty sales network, equipped with a maximum power of 130 kW permanent magnet synchronous drive motor. Additionally, the car will offer three trim levels, all featuring a single-motor configuration, with an estimated range of over 400 kilometers, suitable for urban commuting.

It’s worth mentioning that we have previously captured real-life images of the BYD Yuan UP, which features a rounded yet robust overall design, incorporating both the traditional Dynasty dragon-inspired aesthetic and modern, youthful elements. Specifically, the car adopts a new design style, with a closed front grille adorned with black panels and the Yuan logo in seal script font in the center, complemented by elongated headlights for a layered effect. Moreover, its unique front bumper design enhances its distinctive appearance.

Looking at the side profile, the car features concealed door handles, with black panels and chrome elements added along the lower edge, adding to its rugged appeal. In terms of dimensions, it measures 4310/1830/1675mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2620mm, positioning it as a compact SUV.

The rear profile of the BYD Yuan UP is characterized by its rounded contour and horizontally spanning taillights, complementing the vehicle’s cool and cute style. Notably, unlike existing Dynasty models, this car features a BYD logo at the rear instead of the seal script Yuan logo seen on the front, with a light green color scheme that adds to its youthful vibe.

Inside, the new car adopts a black and beige dual-tone color scheme, coupled with a panoramic sunroof to create a spacious and bright interior. The interior maintains the rich design style of the BYD family, with a combination of a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel that significantly enhances the vehicle’s tech appeal. Additionally, the car retains a certain number of physical buttons near the multifunction steering wheel and gear lever, catering to users who prefer physical controls over touchscreens.

The front seats support electric adjustment, while the rear seats offer good space and a flat floor, ensuring comfort even when seated in the middle. Furthermore, the rear seats will provide USB ports and small storage compartments. The luggage space of the BYD Yuan UP is also outstanding, showcasing practicality, with the rear seats expected to support a 4/6 split folding configuration.

As BYD’s first compact SUV to feature the e-platform 3.0, the entire car undergoes forward-looking research and development, particularly in terms of space, energy consumption, and safety. In terms of power, according to previous declarations, the car will feature the TZ200XSW permanent magnet synchronous drive motor with a maximum power of 130 kW.
